| Mumbai happens to be the entertainment capital
of India, as it houses the world's largest movie and television
producing industry. Most of the hindi potboilers are made by the
local studios, not to speak of hundreds of TV serials and sop
operas. As a result, the option for
entertainment are many, be it in the form of movies in spanking new
multiplexes or old rundown cinemas.
The theatre thrives in the form of popular
hinglish & gujarati plays, which are staged mostly over weekends.
But serious theatre also co-exists in the form of Hindi, English &
Marathi plays, which are regularly staged in theatres e.g. Prithvi,
NCPA etc.
